Modern CA Author

This is a tool for authoring cellular automata web pages and/or experimenting with cellular automata rules. Its goal is to generate HTML text which can be selected, copied, and pasted into a new or existing HTML document file on the user's computer. If a copy of the Modern Cellular Automata Java applet is placed in the same directory as the HTML document file then the cellular automata should start running as soon as the HTML document is opened.

AuthorXY is a companion tool used for authoring web pages which compare cellular automata.

The Modern Cellular Automata software distribution contains the Modern Cellular Automata applet, which may be freely reproduced so long as it is not modified, and all of the HTML and Javascript "source code" for Modern CA Author (this web page) and Modern CA AuthorXY. This code may be freely reproduced and modified. With the distribution you can experiment with a copy of this web page local to your computer, without web access.
